Bristol Christmas Market
Amplifying a festive destination for Bristol.
Bristol Christmas Market
As the nights draw in, the leaves begin to turn and there’s a chill in the air, our minds turn to one thing… a big Christmas sausage!
More specifically, a festive sausage from Bristol’s famous Christmas Market - an annual Duchess office tradition which, last year, turned into a very fun content opportunity when we were approached by the team behind Bristol Christmas Market and Christmas Village to support their content and social media strategy.
The team behind Bristol Christmas Market approached Duchess in November 2025, just a few weeks before the annual opening, looking for a content team who could be on the ground throughout the festive season to capture everything the market and its sister attraction, Bristol Christmas Village, had to offer.
Having previously relied on a mix of photography, ad-hoc video and graphic content, the team recognised the need for a more video-led approach in 2025, particularly following the introduction of TikTok into their marketing mix. The focus was on creating high quality, narrative-led content that would bring both destinations to life, capture the festive atmosphere and showcase the experiences on offer.
Alongside content creation, we were tasked with delivering an ongoing influencer campaign across both sites, building awareness, driving footfall and keeping both destinations front of mind throughout the festive period.
What they needed
What we did
The project had two overlapping elements. The first kicked off in mid-November, focusing on the Christmas Market in Broadmead, while the second shone a spotlight on the Christmas Village in Castle Park, which opened in late November and ran until Boxing Day.
Both destinations had plenty to shout about, from food and drink and family friendly fun to live music, nightlife and an all round festive atmosphere. Our job was to bring it all to life through engaging, personality packed content that showed why the Market and Village were must-visit Christmas destinations for all ages.
With the team keen to maintain a consistent, daily posting schedule, we got to work creating two separate content calendars, mapping out key themes, visitor behaviours and opportunities throughout the festive season. From there, we developed our shot lists and got stuck into the fun stuff - content creation!
Throughout November and December, the Duchess team was regularly on the ground at both locations, capturing batches of content, editing as we went and delivering finished videos alongside recommendations on when and where to post.
And we certainly got into the festive spirit! Think dedicated food tours of the different vendors (a tough job, but someone had to do it!), retailer and visitor vox pops, Christmas shopping guides and even waltzer rides and roller skating. All in the name of content, of course.
Alongside this, we delivered a rolling influencer campaign, working with a mix of food, family and lifestyle creators to reach a broad range of audiences. From groups of friends looking for a festive night out to families planning a wholesome Christmas day out, the aim was to showcase the different experiences on offer and give everyone a reason to visit.
The content was rolled out across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok for both Bristol Christmas Market and Bristol Christmas Village, and the results were pretty spectacular!
Across just seven weeks, our content generated over 2.2 million views across the platforms, alongside more than 50,000 engagements and significant growth across the accounts.
Numerous videos went viral on Instagram and TikTok, while the Christmas Market's Instagram engagement rate climbed to an impressive 18.73%.
Our influencer campaign added even more momentum, generating additional engagement, extending the campaign's reach and introducing both destinations to new audiences throughout the festive season.
Not bad for seven weeks of festive fun (and a LOT of Christmas sausages!).
